District defends driver for keeping kids on bus

Salt Lake City Schools and one of its bus drivers face scrutiny from some parents after the driver pulls over on a route because kids are unruly and refuses to let them out. District officials review the bus video and say the driver did everything right, and that the situation escalated because of a parent who showed up with a bat, demanded that his student be let off and threatened the life of the driver.

Driver falls asleep, crashes school bus into mobile home

Lakeisha Graham-Martin, who works for Darlington County (S.C.) School District, is facing a charge for running a stop sign during the accident, and the district has placed her on unpaid leave pending the outcome of the investigation into the crash. Thirty-two students were on board at the time, and a couple of them had minor injuries.

Brad Clark, a bus driver for La Mesa (Calif.) Spring Valley School District, was driving his bus through a strong rainstorm in mid-September when an 80-foot eucalyptus tree fell in the street, and his bus slammed into it. Neither he nor the five special-needs students aboard the bus were harmed.
