Former bus driver gets year in jail for student death

Troy Edward Daniels, a former bus driver for Jordan School District in Utah, is sentenced to a year in jail in connection with a student who was hit and killed by another bus after exiting his bus when Daniels failed to activate his red lights and signals or stop arm. He pleaded guilty as charged to class A misdemeanor reckless endangerment and class C misdemeanor failure to signal.

Truck driver pulled over hours before crash with school bus

About two hours before a logging truck crashed into a school bus and sent seven students and the driver to the hospital on Monday in Starke, Florida, Shannon Ford, the driver of the truck, was pulled over for inspection. An officer with the Florida Highway Patrol found a few safety violations but nothing that would put the vehicle out of service.
