COQUITLAM, British Columbia — Seon is kicking off the second part of its annual anti-bullying coloring contest. This year’s contest theme is “The Happy School Bus: A Bully-free Zone” and features the winning student design from Jazmine of Wheatfield Elementary in Indiana. Jazmine's drawing is being used as part two of the 2014 Coloring Contest.

For part one, contestants were asked to draw a “No Bullies on My Bus” outline picture on the contest sheet, to be used in part two, in which contestants will color in the winner’s outline picture.

All school-aged children are encouraged to use their creativity and artistic ability and submit their completed coloring sheets by Oct. 31 to win one of three prize packages. Student winners in each age category (5-7, 8-10, and 11-plus) will win a Seon “Buddy the Safety Bear” stuffed animal and anti-bullying supporter medal. The winning students’ schools will receive a Bully Project DVD and Educator’s Kit and a $500 cash donation to help fund community-based anti-bullying awareness and education initiatives.

The coloring contest, which coincides with National Bullying Prevention Month in October, was started by Seon in 2013 in an effort to encourage school transportation staff to start conversations about bullying with the students riding their school buses.

“We had an amazing response to last year’s ‘Bullies Aren’t Cool’ coloring contest with over 1,300 entries,” said Lori Jetha, marketing communications manager at Seon. “We heard so many inspiring stories and had such a tremendous outpouring of support for the contest that we decided to make it an annual event during the month of October.”

School transportation staff, parents, and administrators are encouraged to visit Seon's website to download and print this year’s official coloring sheet for their students and submit the best entries to marketing@seon.com. The website also includes more information about the coloring contest, and other anti-bullying awareness initiatives.
