GURNEE, Ill. — Peter J. Grandolfo, a pupil transportation authority in the area of special needs, died Jan. 22. He was 59.
Grandolfo was the program administrator and chief of transportation operations at Northside Learning Center High School in Chicago. Previously, he spent many years as the transportation liaison at Chicago Public Schools.
Grandolfo frequently appeared as a speaker at pupil transportation conferences, often discussing the challenges of special-needs transportation.
He leaves behind his wife, Linda, three children and one grandchild. The family asked that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chicago Arthritis Foundation, 29 E. Madison, Ste. 500, Chicago, IL 60602.
