FORT VALLEY, Ga. — IndustryWeek magazine has named Blue Bird Corp.’s North Georgia Body Co. plant among the top 10 winners for its 2007 “IW Best Plants in North America” competition.
The La Fayette plant has been in operation since 1982 and currently manufactures the Blue Bird Vision model school bus body. Named a finalist in the competition in September 2007, the plant was selected from manufacturing facilities across North America for its dedication to continuous improvement and outstanding performance in safety, quality and productivity.
Other winners of the competition included Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control in Ocala and Orlando, Fla., and Rieter Automotive Canadian Carpet in London, Ontario. Profiles of all 10 winning plants appear in IndustryWeek’s January 2008 issue.
