The country’s third-largest contractor is getting even bigger. Student Transportation of America (STA) has completed a series of major acquisitions over the last year to enhance services and expand its U.S. operations while increasing annual revenue by $70 million.
With the acquisitions, the company has added more than 1,000 employees and nearly 900 vehicles to its national fleet.
“Growth by strategic and disciplined acquisition has always been the cornerstone of our business strategy,” said Gene Kowalczewski, CEO of Student Transportation of America. “We place immense value on maintaining the strong local relationships built across communities over many years and we strive to maintain, if not enhance these service levels by leveraging the local team’s deep understanding of the market to do so.”
STA has now completed transactions with the following providers:
Visconti Bus Service, LLC. in New York
VW Trans, LLC. in New York
Birnie Bus Service, Inc. and Birnie Transit, Inc. in New York
Desert Choice Transport, LLC. in Arizona
West Point Tours, Inc. in New York
Brandt Buses, Inc. and Assist-to-Transport, LLC. in Wisconsin
In its announcement, STA assured that it is working closely with legacy personnel under each agreement to ensure minimal disruption.
