The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has granted another extension of the waiver of "under-the-hood" elements usually covered in testing for commercial driver's license applicants. Their goal: to reduce hurdles for getting new school bus drivers into seats ahead of the 2022-2023 academic year in the hopes of alleviating the ongoing driver shortage. The summer is a peak time for school bus driver recruitment.
