A Kentucky Clean Fuels Coalition team, which includes Eaton Corp. and the Kentucky Department of Education, receives the first Visionary Leadership Award from the Southeast Diesel Collaborative Group. Eaton assembles the hybrid system for the buses, and the coalition provides the buses through a U.S. Department of Energy grant.

Thomas Built’s Saf-T-Liner C2e hybrid school bus and IC Bus’ CE Series bus with a hybrid-electric system are eligible for the funding as part of the California Air Resources Board's Hybrid Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project.
