NAPT Summit Urges Engagement

National Association for Pupil Transportation (NAPT) members heard a major theme emerge during the general sessions and seminars at the 2009 Summit: namely, that transportation is a key part of the education system, and the industry must take on and promote that role in order to achieve larger safety and educational goals.

New edition of special-needs transportation manual available

NAPT offers the fourth edition of Transporting Children with Disabilities, which contains resources to help pupil transporters meet the needs of students with various disabilities. It is also designed to serve as the curriculum for a special-needs certification course.

NAPT calls for proposals for 2010 conference

The presentation proposals should include practical information and advice and must meet the administrative or operational needs of industry officials. The submission deadline is April 15.

NAPT elects new board members

Alexandra Robinson of San Diego Unified School District becomes president-elect. The newly created board position for an affiliate member goes to Mike Roscoe of school bus seat and restraint supplier The C.E. White Co.
