NSTA President Magda Dimmendaal says “we are glad to see violations such as this recognized and enforced by FTA.”

Ray LaHood announces on Tuesday to the employees of the U.S. Department of Transportation that he will not serve a second term, but he says he will stay on until his successor is confirmed. LaHood showed support for the pupil transportation industry during his term, calling for funding of a program to promote the benefits of yellow buses, attending industry events and taking on such issues as distracted driving.

At this year’s conference in Memphis, Tenn., Max Christensen will become president of the National Association of State Directors of Pupil Transportation Services. He plans to keep the association focused on changes in technology, build upon its relationship with other industry groups and work on growing its ties to federal-level agencies.
