Dallas buys over 100 new buses, adds belts

Dallas County Schools has been acquiring a variety of new equipment for its giant fleet, from new school buses to lap-shoulder belts to stop-arm cameras. The district recently took delivery of 103 new Saf-T-Liner C2s from Thomas Built Buses. Director of Transportation Aaron Hobbs discusses the developments with SBF.

IMMI offers discount for replacing old restraints

Through the SafeGuard Summer Exchange Program, a school district cuts the manufacturing labels and the webbing they’re sewn to from a retired vest or other child restraint and ships them to IMMI. For each valid product exchanged, the district receives a $15 coupon that can be applied to the purchase of one new STAR restraint from an authorized STAR distributor.

Mass. district equips all buses with lap-shoulder belts

IMMI has completed installation of its SafeGuard seating products on Waltham Public Schools' buses. A grassroots group educated the district’s school committee on benefits and expected costs of adding lap-shoulder belts to school buses, and more than 800 Waltham residents signed a petition requesting that the committee require the belts in its bus contracts.
