Through the SafeGuard Summer Exchange Program, a school district cuts the manufacturing labels and the webbing they’re sewn to from a retired vest or other child restraint and ships them to IMMI. For each valid product exchanged, the district receives a $15 coupon that can be applied to the purchase of one new STAR restraint from an authorized STAR distributor.

WESTFIELD, Ind. — IMMI is once again offering its SafeGuard Summer Exchange Program, which gives school districts a discount on the purchase of a new STAR restraint when they retire any brand of vest or other child restraint.
“It’s critical that transportation officials continually inspect the condition of the restraints they’re using for wear and tear to keep students secure during transport,” said Charlie Vits, market development manager for IMMI’s SafeGuard. “No one wants a child to be injured or worse due to a worn or frayed restraint."

Vits went on to say that with the SafeGuard Summer Exchange Program, school officials can be assured that they’re providing the best safety restraints for their school bus-transported students, while receiving an extra cost-saving benefit for their efforts to keep them safer.
The program runs from June 1 to Sept. 30, 2012. To participate, a school district must cut the manufacturing labels and the webbing they’re sewn to from the retired products and ship them to IMMI. For each valid product exchanged, the district will receive a $15 coupon that can be applied to the purchase of one new STAR restraint from an authorized STAR distributor of its choice. Purchases using the coupon must be made before Dec. 31, 2012.
SafeGuard STAR five-point restraints can be used when transporting preschool, Head Start and special-needs children. Officials said the restraints are intuitive and easy to use, and they safely secure and adapt to children of a wide range of sizes and needs.
