Bobit Business Media, the largest fleet media, marketing services, and business intelligence provider, and parent company of School Bus Fleet, is hosting a new webinar: “Guidance on Compliance: Regulations and Mitigating Risk as Schools Reopen.”

As schools prepare to reopen, pupil transporters will be required to make significant adjustments to the school bus, right alongside school administrators as they implement increased safety procedures in classrooms and other onsite facilities, to safely accommodate in-person education during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The webinar will provide guidance from transportation law expert Matthew Daus on safely transporting students while minimizing liability exposure and risks of claims, government regulatory enforcement, and litigation.

In particular, Daus will cover topics such as:

•    The latest recommendations and requirements from various federal agencies.
•    Key items to include in an employee health and safety plan.
•    What accommodations are required for employees.
•    How to conduct a direct threat analysis.
•    Tips for renegotiating bus contracts in light of legislation and economic impacts.

Daus is a partner and chairman at Windels Marx Transportation Group. He also serves as transportation technology chair at the City University of New York’s Transportation Research Center, where he conducts research. He is published as an expert on ground transportation regulation and technology and teaches courses on transportation history, policy, sustainability, for-hire regulation, and technology. Additionally, Daus serves as president of the nonprofit educational and advocacy group International Association of Transportation Regulators and as the chairman of the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission.

The one-hour webinar will take place on Wed. July 1 at 11 a.m. Pacific Time/ 2 p.m. Eastern Time.
