Power management solutions provider Vanner Inc. has added Randy McWhirter to its sales team.
With over 30 years of experience in the school bus industry, McWhirter will lead the launch of Vanner’s latest technology for vehicle accessory electrification and engine-off operation called Revolution, according to a news release from the company.
Designed for the 12-year lifespan of the school bus, Revolution combines Vanner’s solid-state power technology with electrical scroll compressor air conditioning to produce an efficient emission reduction system for school bus fleets, without the need for battery charging infrastructure that is required for electric buses, according to the company’s website. Revolution allows the driver full use of the air conditioner, wheelchair lift, and all 12-volt accessories with the engine on or off.
Through his many years as a school bus sales manager for Rush Bus Sales and business development manager for Capital Bus Sales, McWhirter has developed relationships and built a reputation of trust with school districts in Texas and other markets, according to Vanner.
Officials from the company said they “enthusiastically welcome [McWhirter] to the Vanner family” and are eager to see his contributions to the company.
