School bus driver safety training will be offered to more than 1,500 school districts insured or reinsured by United Educators Insurance (UE), under a new partnership between the firm and the School Bus Safety Co. (SBSC).
SBSC said it has more than 20 years of experience in training drivers to keep schoolchildren safe. The program developed for UE includes four of SBSC’s most popular training modules, which will be offered at no cost to UE members.
“School bus accidents can be tragic, and UE continually looks for ways to help our members prevent such incidents,” said Janice Abraham, president and CEO of UE. “This reputable training program not only helps our members reduce losses, it also ensures the safety of students being transported.”
SBSC officials said that six of the eight largest student transportation contractors and more than 690 school districts are currently using the company’s training programs.
“We are delighted that UE is bringing these programs to an additional 1,500 school districts,” said Jeff Cassell, president of SBSC. “Working together, we are making school bus transportation safer across a large number of school districts. The programs being delivered by UE will ensure that drivers are prepared to provide the safest, most efficient service possible.”
