Transfinder to Open Innovation Center in India
The routing software developer is scheduled to open its Transfinder India Innovation Center in Hyderabad on Jan. 2, 2020.
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — Transfinder is opening a second international office, this one in India, the company announced on Monday.
The Transfinder India Innovation Center is scheduled to open on Jan. 2, 2020, in Hyderabad, the second largest city in the Indian state of Telangana, according to a news release from the routing software developer.
The decision to open Transfinder India comes four years after the company opened its first international office in Shanghai, China, and its office in Austin, Texas — the company’s first expansion outside of New York state. Since opening Transfinder Shanghai, the office has expanded from four employees to 27, and has grown by 30% this year alone, according to the company.
“We have seen just how much the employees at Transfinder Shanghai bring to the company overall,” said Antonio Civitella, president and CEO of Transfinder. “Our developers in Shanghai interact often with our team in Schenectady, and we’ve even had Shanghai employees join our development team in Schenectady for months at a time. I anticipate that will happen more and more as we open additional operations such as Transfinder India.”
Civitella added that he is excited about the additional diversity Transfinder India will bring to the company, and that he expects to close 2020 with 18 employees at the Transfinder India Innovation Center.
He also noted that Transfinder will continue to undertake efforts to bring programmers to its headquarters in New York by hosting in-house job fairs, hosting or sponsoring hackathons, attending career fairs, and engaging multiple recruiters. Civitella also said that the company has purchased the building next door to its headquarters in anticipation of future growth.
