DALLASTOWN, Pa. — Trans/Air Manufacturing Corp. has unveiled two new products: a TM43 Transit Compressor and a TM43 Mount and Drive kit for IC Bus conventional school bus chassis with Cummins ISB engines.
Created for heavy duty transit compressor buses and coaches, the compressor is designed to provide high reliability and capacity only available from a transit compressor design for heavy duty split system and rooftop applications, company officials said.
With a capacity of 80K (SAE)/128K (IMACA) BTU/hr, the TM43 features include a 10 cylinder swash plate for smooth operation; heavy duty transit clutch in multiple configurations; flexible port and mounting design for easy installation; high and low pressure switches for protection; oil sump for reliability; and compact/lightweight design enabling mounting directly to the engine.

The supplier also introduced its TM43 Mount and Drive kit for IC Bus conventional school bus chassis with Cummins ISB engines. The kit design was created for applications requiring high capacity and durability only available from a transit compressor, according to the supplier.
The TM43 can be installed in addition to and separately from a 10 CID 27K (SAE)/43K (IMACA) Btu/hr dash air system or 13 CID 40K (SAE)/(64K (IMACA) Btu/hr dash air system. The TM43 is paired with a genuine Trans/Air mount and designed using the latest in technology to ensure the highest quality product, according to the supplier.
Mount and Drive kits are also engineered for Ford F650/F750, Freightliner M2 and selected conventional school bus chassis.
All Trans/Air mounts are poly-V based, which provides for proper alignment, auto tensioning and low maintenance, company officials said.
