Matthews Bus Company’s West Jefferson maintenance team has received a letter of commendation from the Pennsylvania State Police for its fleet maintenance and safety practices. This marks the second recognition for the team’s inspection performance in recent years.
The letter, written by Corporal Jacob Y. Roberts, patrol supervisor and U.S. DOT inspector for the Pennsylvania State Police, commended Maintenance Supervisor Sam Borrelli and his team.
“Sam and his team are far and away among the absolute best to work with,” Roberts wrote. “The buses are always extremely well maintained, clean, and never have any issues that would result in a violation on a DOT inspection. The garage itself is always well kept and maintained.”
Roberts also noted Borrelli’s commitment to safety and operations. “He reflects well upon the company and has a genuine concern for the children and drivers that are in the school buses every day.”
Ongoing Commitment to Maintenance and Community
John Hinners, regional maintenance manager for the company’s Great Lakes area, also recognized the team’s work.
“This letter reflects the dedication the team brings to fleet maintenance at West Jefferson,” Hinners said. “Our consistent approach to quality maintenance has made an impact.”
