DALLASTOWN, Pa. — Trans/Air Manufacturing Corp. has unveiled a variety of new products: the RT65 Rooftop Climate Control System, the Driver Air Diverter for the Trans/Air Flush Mounted FM55 Evaporator, and the dual 13 CID Mount & Drive kit for IC Bus conventional chassis with Cummins ISB engines, with a Cummins-approved design.

The RT65 is a compact, low profile, roof-mounted unit designed for school buses as well as commercial vehicles. The system can be installed in single or dual configuration to suit a range of vehicle sizes and AC specification requirements, company officials said.

A single RT65 roof mount system with a 13 CID automotive compressor yields a capacity of 40K (SAE)/64K (IMACA) BTU/hr, which, when installed in addition to a 15K (SAE)/24K (IMACA) BTU/hr OEM dash air system, is designed for small commercial vehicles and school buses.

A dual RT65 configuration, with dual 13 CID automotive compressors or, in selected applications, single TM43 transit compressor, yields a capacity of 80K (SAE)/128K (IMACA) BTU/hr, which when installed in addition to a dash air system, is perfect for mid-sized or large school or commercial buses. Company officials said that system capacity can be enhanced with an optional high capacity #16 suction line.

A distinctive feature of the RT65 is the orientation of the evaporator blowers, according to the supplier. Blowers are mounted to either side of the center aisle providing more head clearance and oriented towards the front and rear of the bus for maximum air flow. RT65 ducted air distribution configurations can be adapted to any OEM style duct work.

Trans/Air's Driver Air Diverter is designed to ensure the comfort of the driver and can be added as an option to Trans/Air’s front flush mounted FM55 Evaporator, company officials said.

Systems are offered with EC4.0 electronic controls and free blow or ducted air distribution as well as a heat option. The aerodynamic fiberglass cover is designed with a radius which hugs the roof contour for a low-profile appearance. The unit is designed to provide easy access to all serviceable components.

Additionally, the new Driver Air Diverter is designed to ensure the comfort of the driver and can be added as an option to Trans/Air’s popular front flush mounted FM55 Evaporator, company officials said. The design consists of four multidirectional rectangular louvers to direct air to the passenger compartment and a separate adjustable ball louver which directs air to the driver.

Distinctive advantages of the Driver Air Diverter include easy aftermarket installation and compatibility with mirrors on all OEM front bulkhead options, according to the company.
