GALLATIN, Tenn. — Sumner County Schools has teamed up with Synovia Solutions to equip all of its school buses with GPS.
The GPS system is expected to enable the district to boost accuracy and efficiency in its school bus routing.
Along with GPS, Sumner County Schools will use Synovia Solutions’ Here Comes the Bus app, which will give parents real-time information on the location of their child’s bus for pickup and drop-off.
“We are excited to be installing this system to run the most efficient and safest operation possible and to provide information to our parents,” said Clint Barnes, assistant director of schools for transportation for the district.
Sumner County Schools transports 18,750 students daily with 206 route buses. The district is ranked No. 83 in School Bus Fleet's Top 100 School District Fleets list for 2017, which appears in the October issue of the magazine.
