Seon's new HD hybrid video surveillance systems and cameras are designed to provide multiple HD views inside and outside the bus and offer enhanced image clarity.

COQUITLAM, British Columbia — Seon has launched a new line of high-definition (HD) hybrid video surveillance systems and cameras designed to provide multiple views and enhanced image clarity.

The line includes the TH6, TH4, and TH4C Hybrid DVRs, and the HD3 and HD1 series HD interior dome and outdoor wedge cameras.  

The hybrid systems are specifically designed for fleets that want multiple HD views inside and outside the vehicle with the flexibility to extend the life of standard-definition cameras.

The plug-and-play TH series of DVRs offers three options for HD recording: TH6, TH4, and TH4C. Any combination of standard resolution analog or HD cameras, for a total of four or six video and audio channels, can record at up to 30 frames per second (FPS) simultaneously, according to Seon. Hybrid support allows selection of a wide range of camera options. Up to 2 terabytes of storage capacity can provide maximum video retention time.

The TH6 system supports up to six HD cameras (720/1080 pixels) at up to 30 FPS with SuperCaps technology, which is intended to protect video in the event of a sudden power loss. A second low-resolution video stream is recorded via SD card backup. For school bus surveillance applications, six cameras configured along each side of the bus deliver a cross view between the seats for complete coverage of students sitting in high-backed seats.

The TH4 can record four HD camera views at 720 pixels/30 FPS, with up to 2 terabytes of hard drive storage media and an SD card backup for low-resolution video stream recording.

The TH4C is designed for entry level surveillance, Type A school buses, and paratransit vehicles, recording four HD cameras at 720 pixels/30 FPS and featuring an SD card as primary storage for portability and convenience. The TH4C also offers a built-in G-sensor to record risky driving behaviors such as swerving, hard braking, or sharp turns.

The TH6 and TH4 systems are available to order, with TH4C availability targeted for the third quarter of 2017.

Customized to suit any interior mobile surveillance application, the HD3Q Interior Dome Camera is adjustable to capture events inside the bus. This plug-and-play camera has a low-profile, vandal-resistant housing, designed to blend in with vehicle décor while improving image clarity with up to 1080 pixels progressive scan resolution. Infrared LEDs, wide dynamic range, and back-light compensation technology provide a sharp, clear image, regardless of light conditions, according to Seon. This camera is compatible with the TH6 system.

The HD3W next-generation HD Outdoor Wedge Camera uses selectable 1080-pixel progressive scan technology to deliver an HD image with up to six times the resolution of a typical analog camera, according to Seon, for applications where picture quality is crucial, such as license plate capture, forward-facing camera recording, and zooming in on key details. This IP67-rated camera, with weatherproof and vandal-resistant housing, protects camera technology against harsh outdoor conditions. This camera is compatible with the TH6 system.

The HD1Q Interior Dome Camera is designed for interior surveillance, delivering 720-pixel resolution. Infrared LEDs, wide dynamic range, and back-light compensation technology are designed to provide a clear image, regardless of light conditions. This camera is compatible with the entire line of TH series DVRs.

The HD1W Outdoor Wedge Camera delivers 720-pixel resolution and is designed with weatherproof housing. This camera is compatible with the entire line of TH series DVRs.

New versions of Seon’s vMax View playback and archiving software and vMax Commander video management and wireless downloading software support this new system and are backward compatible with legacy Seon DVRs such as the Trooper TL2, TL4, and TL-HD, as well as the Explorer TX8, DX12, DX-HD, and HX16.

Existing Seon hard drive docking stations will support TH6 and TH4 hard drives, so there is no need to purchase additional viewing equipment, according to Seon.
