PLEASANT HOPE, Mo. — A longtime school bus driver was set to attend a celebration last Saturday honoring his retirement, according to a story on bolivarmonews.com.
Carl Fisher retired in August after nearly 66 years behind the wheel. He began driving a school bus when he was 16, and will soon be 82 years old. He told the news source that he has transported students from three generations of some families, and that he has considered the students to be like family.
Fisher reportedly holds the Guinness World Record for length of service as a school bus driver.
