TRUMBULL, Conn. — Police took a school bus driver into custody on Wednesday after they say she was caught texting while driving a school bus. Investigators believe Evelyn Guzman, 47, sent and received 1,068 text messages while operating a school bus between April 6 and May 15, 2010.
Investigators reviewed footage from her school bus' surveillance camera that allegedly showed her texting, MSNBC reports. Detectives saw the footage during an investigation of an incident in which Guzman's daughter, Jennifer Davila, allegedly assaulted a special-needs student on the bus.
