FRESNO, Calif. — Pana-Pacific, an integrator that serves commercial vehicle (CV) manufacturers, is now marketing and distributing infotainment systems to the North American motorcoach industry.
The expansion features the distribution and technical support for Bosch Coach Infotainment products. The Bosch solutions are designed to manage cabin media and provide drivers and passengers state-of-the-art connectivity and seamless infotainment while traveling by motorcoach, according to a news release from Pana-Pacific.
“At Pana-Pacific, we’re committed to introducing unique products and programs to new commercial vehicle segments,” said John Trenberth, CEO of Pana-Pacific. “We are seeing progressive changes in public and private transportation, which will allow us to put our experience in mobile connectivity to use and enhance both driver and passenger experience. The Bosch smartInfotainment series expands our OEM portfolio and in a new channel of the CV market.”
Coach infotainment systems from Bosch are customized for specific vehicle manufacturers and vehicle applications and with specialized components. The smartRadio is designed for controlling and playing audio sources in the vehicle cockpit. It includes Bluetooth capabilities to allow audio streaming and safe, convenient, hands-free mobile phone calls. The smartPanel is designed for controlling and playing media sources in the vehicle cabin. On the system’s optional monitors, motorcoach passengers can view image and video files from USB and SD storage devices. The smartRadio and the smartPanel can operate as stand-alone devices or in tandem.
In 2020, the high-end Coach Infotainment Series system will launch, and will include a digital system architecture with ETH AVB technology.
