ROGUE RIVER, Ore. — On Tuesday morning, a school bus driver was killed when her bus collided with a semi-truck, Mail-Tribune reports.

Terilyn Morgan, a bus driver for First Student, died in the crash. Police told the newspaper that there were no students on board the bus at the time of the crash.

The one passenger aboard the bus and the semi-truck driver were both hospitalized, according to Grants Pass Daily Courier. The passenger, Gary Randolph, is in critical condition and the truck driver, Mark Minegar, remains in serious condition, a medical center spokeswoman told Grants Pass Daily Courier.

Jen Biddinger, a spokeswoman for First Student, told Grants Pass Daily Courier that Morgan had worked for the company since 2010, serving Rogue River School District 35.

The cause of the collision is not yet known, according to the Mail-Tribune.

In a statement on the Rogue River School District website, Superintendent Paul Young said that the school bus driver was a parent in the school district.

“We immediately provided support and counseling services to the children of the parent, as we would with any family,” Young said. “On behalf of the students, staff, community and school board, our hearts grieve for the family's loss.”
