FREMONT, Ohio — After 25 years in business, Bobby’s Truck and Bus Repair is getting some high-profile accolades.

The Fremont-based school bus service and sales company recently earned an official commendation and words of praise from Ohio state Rep. Rex Damschroder.

“During Bobby’s Truck and Bus Repair’s years of operation, their presence has been important to the local community,” Damschroder said. “Their continuing success is a justifiable source of pride as well as a reflection on the business and its dedicated employees.”

The legislator presented company owners Bobby and Kellie Sears with a commendation in recognition of their 25 years of service to the Fremont area.

“Bobby and I are both honored and humbled by such prestigious recognition from Representative Damschroder and the state of Ohio House of Representatives,” Kellie Sears said. “We remain grateful for the ongoing support we receive from the state and look forward to our future.”

The husband and wife duo founded Bobby’s Truck and Bus Repair in 1989 after Bobby Sears developed a passion for working on buses while serving as a mechanic at the Fremont City School District for five years.

“I’ve always liked to figure out why something wasn’t running right and that sense of accomplishment when you use knowledge and hard work to fix something,” Sears said. “Our success is a product of our loyal customer base over the past 25 years along with our dedicated employees who work just as hard as we do and are just as passionate about our business.”

Bobby’s Truck and Bus Repair has experienced considerable growth in the past few years. The company expanded into bus sales in 2010 and added a new location in Toledo in 2012.

In 2013, Bobby’s Truck and Bus Repair became the exclusive dealership in Ohio for Lion Bus. Its first sale was to Bedford City School District, which purchased three new Lion buses earlier this year.

While Fremont remains the home base for Bobby’s Truck and Bus Repair, the Toledo location was recently called “one of Toledo’s greatest accomplishments in small business” by Toledo Deputy Mayor Paul Syring, referring to its recruitment of an international product with Lion Bus.
