ST. JOHN'S, Newfoundland and Labrador — A school bus operator who was transporting students here was charged with impaired driving on Wednesday, police said.
According to the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, at about 8 a.m. officers responded to a report of a possibly impaired school bus driver in the area of Old Bay Bulls Road.
As a result of the investigation, a 71-year-old man was charged with impaired driving and operation of a motor vehicle over 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood (0.08%).
The driver was released to appear in court at a later date.
The Telegram reported that there were about four high school students on the bus when the driver was arrested, but no one was injured.
