Sean Corr has been named president of Educational Bus in Copiague, New York, a school transportation company owned by The Trans Group.
The announcement was made last week by Tim Flood, executive vice president of The Trans Group.
Educational Bus provides student transportation services to school districts in Nassau and Suffolk Counties, including Massapequa, Amityville, Wantagh, Seaford, Farmingdale, Bethpage and South Huntington.
“Everyone at The Trans Group joins me in congratulating Sean on being named president of Educational Bus,” Flood said. “Having a third-generation member of the Corr family at the helm of Educational Bus will help lead us into an even safer, more efficient and environmentally supportive era of school transportation.”
Sean Corr’s father, John Corr Jr., is president of The Trans Group and past president of the National School Transportation Association (NSTA). In 1952, Sean's grandfather, John Corr Sr., founded the company that was to become part of The Trans Group.
“Sean Corr grew up around school buses, working on vehicles in our shops, similar to how his father started,” Flood added. “He brings that familiarity, expertise and passion to his role as president.”
In addition to his involvement with The Trans Group, Sean Corr is a past recipient of the Thomas Built Buses Continuing Education Award, an annual grant presented to an employee of a contractor belonging to the NSTA.
The Trans Group employs over 1,700 people and operates over 1,200 school and public transit buses in lower New York state and Long Island, according to the company.
