Union workers at Thomas Built Buses' High Point facility ratified a contract that includes a ratification bonus, four pay increases and more vacation.
HIGH POINT, N.C. — Union workers at Thomas Built Buses’ manufacturing facility here have ratified a new four-year contract.
Officials said on Monday that the United Auto Workers (UAW) Local 5287’s new contract rewards the contributions of Thomas Built’s workforce while improving the efficiency of the company’s operations to make it more competitive.
The contract includes a ratification bonus, four pay increases and increased paid vacation. The agreement is effective immediately and runs through April 20, 2018.
“The new four-year agreement between Thomas Built Buses and the UAW serves the mutual benefit of our company and our valued workers,” said Kelley Platt, president of Thomas Built Buses. “The ongoing close collaboration with the UAW has resulted in a contract that will help assure Thomas Built Buses continued growth in the marketplace, manufacturing excellence and market leadership.”
