National Safety Council honors FirstGroup America
FirstGroup America has been selected to receive the 2009 Green Cross for Safety Medal from the National Safety Council (NSC) in recognition of its commitment to safety and customer service.
CINCINNATI — FirstGroup America has been selected to receive the 2009 Green Cross for Safety Medal from the National Safety Council (NSC) in recognition of its commitment to safety and customer service.
The announcement was made by NSC officials at the council’s 96th Annual Congress & Expo in Anaheim, Calif.
“This medal is a testament to the focus on safety of the entire organization," FirstGroup Chief Executive Moir Lockhead said. "Our commitment to the safety of our employees and customers through our Injury Prevention Program means if you cannot do it safely, don’t do it.”
NSC will present FirstGroup and Lockhead with the Green Cross for Safety Medal at a special recognition dinner in spring 2009.
FirstGroup America, a subsidiary of U.K.-based FirstGroup PLC, operates First Student, First Transit and First Services.
