Federal safety officials and inspirational athletes are among the key speakers on tap for this year’s National Association for Pupil Transportation (NAPT) Summit.
The 2015 Summit will be held Nov. 6-10 in Richmond, Virginia. The agenda includes workshops on a variety of school transportation topics, keynote presentations, a trade show and networking events.
• Siphiwe Baleka, a Yale University graduate and the first African-American named to the All-Ivy-League Swim Team. Baleka is currently the driver health and fitness coach at transportation carrier Prime Inc. NAPT said of Baleka’s presentation, “One of the most provocative speakers in his field will explain why the health and fitness of your drivers should be among your highest priorities.”
• Scott Burrows, a Florida State football wide receiver who was involved in an automobile crash that left him a quadriplegic. NAPT said that Burrows will show attendees “how to stand up to challenges, even in the face of seemingly overwhelming odds.”
