Other workshop topics include deploying and funding electric school buses; a recent American Academy of Pediatrics report; driver screening; school bus Wi-Fi’s impact on student behavior; and fleet maintenance and replacement.

In one of the conference's general sessions, Michele Beckjord of the National Transportation Safety Board will discuss her agency’s recent report on the 2016 Chattanooga and Baltimore school bus crashes and will give an update on the investigation of last year’s fatal school bus fire in Iowa.

As previously reported, the NAPT 2018 conference will feature a live-action event that will demonstrate school bus fires and their impact on student evacuations.

The agenda also includes NAPT’s annual trade show as well as a new product showcase session.
