MJG Technologies CMVTC develops school bus safety products and programs for school transportation departments, consortiums, and school bus dealers across Canada.

Its systems are designed for Canadian climate and road conditions, with recording that can begin within 50 seconds of bus power-up, including at -40°C. MJG is a Canadian company and cites decades of experience meeting low-temperature operating requirements.

An award from Education Technology Insights Canada and the company’s growth in Canada were cited as indicators of customer adoption. MJG also points to an emphasis on long-term customer relationships and on developing devices and programs intended for Canadian operations.

With Transport Canada’s perimeter visibility requirement for school buses expected to begin in November 2027, MJG is highlighting CrossSafe 360. The system is described as an AI-enabled perimeter visibility solution that includes blind spot monitoring, alarms, autocalibration, and an interactive program. MJG also notes participation on the Transport Canada Advisory Council and the CSA D250 Standards Committee.

CrossSafe “Awareness Through Enforcement” is positioned as an approach to reducing illegal pass-bys when a school bus is stopped. The program centers on capturing evidence, supporting enforcement, and using fine recovery to help offset program costs. MJG says it has designed, tested, manufactured, and deployed school bus safety technologies for Canada over the last two decades.

The company also distributes a 2-metre (6-foot) extended stop arm in Canada. The device is described as expanding the stop zone by positioning an LED-illuminated stop sign into the line of sight of approaching drivers. Optional arm illumination and Halo-Guard stop sign perimeter lighting are also available.

A new warehouse and engineering lab are being used to support development of additional products, including a pedestrian-focused blind spot monitoring stand-alone programmable reverse camera and a CrossSafe 360 Hybrid solution. Current capacity is listed at more than 2,500 units per month, with scalability up to 5,000 units per month, and next-day shipping is typical. Warranty coverage is listed at five years, along with a 0.05% warranty claim rate and replacement shipments typically within 24 hours.

Support resources include trained staff, flexible production schedules, project management tools, and an interactive help desk and support ticket portal.

Many of MJG’s product updates are described as originating from customer requests and feedback.
