The L545 is designed to provide consistent and reliable performance to 3.9- to 5.9-liter engines in school buses and other applications.

NOVI, Mich. — LoadHandler Power Products has expanded its product line with the L545 Gear Reduction Starter, a new 12V 2.5kW drop-in replacement starter.

The latest addition to LoadHandler is designed to fit 3.9- to 5.9-liter Cummins diesel engines used in school buses as well as medium-duty trucking and industrial applications.

The L545 features built-in, application-specific technologies to ensure consistent and reliable performance, according to the company.

“As with all LoadHandler products, the new L545 drop-in replacement starter is fully performance tested and engineered to deliver OE-like appearance, fit and function,” said Jonathan Smith, assistant director of aftermarket sales and marketing for LoadHandler Power Products. “We’re pleased to introduce another offering that provides an affordable alternative to the rebuilt starters used in many of today’s applications.”

The L545 weighs 19 pounds and has a heat-treated shaft designed to increase durability and service life.
