ALBANY, N.Y. — The Large District Transportation Council held its inaugural meeting in Houston on Feb. 26 and 27. The event was hosted by VersaTrans Solutions of Latham, N.Y. The council consists of directors of school bus transportation operations from U.S. and Canadian school districts having more than 60,000 students enrolled. Specific discussion points over the two-day event included GPS and AVL (global positioning systems and automatic vehicle location), special-needs bus routing, fleet maintenance, field trip management and communication with the public.
