Job fair aims to attract nearly 100 school bus drivers, attendants
More than a dozen Michigan school districts and one school bus contractor are holding their first-ever joint job fair to recruit transportation candidates. The operations promote their positions as offering on-the-job training and certification, flexible hours and benefits.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — More than a dozen area school districts and one school bus contractor are holding their first-ever joint job fair with hopes to recruit a bevy of transportation candidates.
The districts and contractor are aiming to hire a total of nearly 100 school bus drivers and attendants for the upcoming school year.
The event will be held at Kent ISD, 2930 Knapp NE, in Grand Rapids from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 10. Representatives from participating operations will be on hand and “ready to hire warm, caring adults who love kids,” according to a news release from Kent ISD.
The school districts and contractor provide on-the-job training and certification. They are also promoting their positions as offering flexible hours, benefits, and weekends and holidays off.
The participating operations are Caledonia Community Schools, Cedar Springs Public Schools, East Grand Rapids Public Schools, Forest Hills Public Schools, Grand Rapids Public Schools, Grandville Public Schools, Kelloggsville Public Schools, Kentwood Public Schools, Lowell Area Schools, Sparta Area Schools, Wyoming Public Schools, Dean Transportation and Kent ISD.
