The news program cites School Bus Fleet data on driver shortage and interviews Thomas McMahon on the topic.

The widespread shortage of school bus drivers has caught the attention of the mainstream media, and Good Morning America discussed the issue with School Bus Fleet Editor Thomas McMahon on Tuesday’s program.
The Good Morning America segment cited data from SBF’s recent survey of school bus contractors, which found that 22% of respondents had a severe shortage of drivers, and all respondents reported some degree of shortage.
Good Morning America interviewed McMahon, and he noted some of the impacts of driver shortage, such as route cuts and bus stop consolidation.
Also in the piece, Donna Grattino, director of transportation for Douglas County School District in Colorado, discussed her district’s driver shortage and recruitment efforts.
After the report aired, Good Morning America anchor Robin Roberts shared details about when she worked as a school bus driver during her senior year of high school.
