TULSA, Okla. — Fifty-four school bus technicians from all over the U.S. and Canada attended the IC Bus University session held the week of May 3 at the manufacturer's Tulsa Bus Plant.

Attendees were provided up to 43 hours of instruction on bus maintenance, engines, bus electrical, Ricon Lifts, Braun lifts, Allison transmissions, SMI equipment and other relevant areas for school bus technicians.

The next session of IC Bus University is scheduled for the week of Aug. 16. School bus technicians interested in the August 16 session should contact their IC Bus dealer for registration information.

Attendees should plan to arrive in Tulsa by noon on Monday, Aug. 16. Attendees will be responsible for transportation to and from Tulsa, their hotel ($89 per night and includes breakfast), an evening meal and the class fee of $300.

IC Bus will furnish daily transportation, including airport pickup and return. Return flights should be scheduled after 1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 20. Lunch will be provided Monday through Friday, and the session also includes a guided plant tour.

Instruction topics include engines, bus electrical and bus maintenance, evening classes on full power brakes, air conditioning, Ricon and Braun lifts, lunch presentations on Koroseal maintenance, SMI equipment and paint repair, as well as an additional four-hour class on Allison transmissions, for up to 43 hours of total instruction. All books and materials are included in the cost of class fees.
