Holland Bus Co. invests more than $1M to expand facility
The Michigan-based dealership for Blue Bird Corp. now features over 9,000 square feet of service space, including six new service bays dedicated to school buses, 8,000 square feet for body repairs, 5,000 square feet of parts inventory and 3,000 square feet dedicated to sales support. Officials say the expansion accommodates the growing demand for Blue Bird school bus sales, and parts and service support.

HOLLAND, Mich. — Holland Bus Co. recently unveiled a substantial dealership expansion to accommodate the growing demand for Blue Bird school bus sales, and parts and service support.
With significant market share growth and a dealership footprint that spans nine acres, the Blue Bird dealership invested more than $1 million to expand its facility. The dealership now features over 9,000 square feet of service space, including six new service bays dedicated to school buses, 8,000 square feet for body repairs, 5,000 square feet of parts inventory and 3,000 square feet dedicated to sales support.
Holland Bus Co. employs six bus parts specialists, eight body and service technicians, two assistant service managers and a service director to ensure each customer receives outstanding support, officials said. The significant expansion will also allow the dealership to provide service to more customers each day and ensure swift service for Michigan school districts.
“Holland Bus Company is pleased to announce our completed dealership expansion,” said John Dykstra, owner of Holland Bus Co. “This sizable project was initiated to handle our growing customers’ needs, even those with the most unique requirements. When a school district comes in for bus support, we’ll have the parts they need with an assistant service manager available to assist them. This provides our customers with greater uptime and top-notch support.”
“Blue Bird dealers are among the best in the industry, and Holland Bus Company is a great example,” said Phil Horlock, president and CEO of Blue Bird Corp. “We applaud the dealership for its leadership in Michigan and this facility expansion. We are proud to have John Dykstra and his team representing us in this important market.”
The dealership recently received the 2013 Best in Region Award at Blue Bird’s Worldwide Dealer Meeting. The company has been a Blue Bird dealer in Michigan for over nine years.
