OAK CREEK, Wis. — GO Riteway Transportation Group has acquired Wisconsin school bus and motorcoach company Lazers Bus Service.

Based in Marshall, Wis., Lazers Bus Service provides school transportation to Marshall Public Schools and motorcoach services to the greater Madison region in south central Wisconsin, according to a news release from GO Riteway. The acquisition of Lazers, including its 29 employees and 33 vehicles, will be made official on Oct. 1.

“We are happy to turn over the reins to GO Riteway,” said Steve Lazers, owner of Lazers Bus Service. “We had choices of who to sell our business to and we feel that GO Riteway is a family company that shares our values. I am also confident that they are strong operators and will treat our employees and customers with the same care we have for the last 52 years.”

Ronald Bast, chairman of GO Riteway, added that the acquisition “provides a key strategic location for the expansion of GO Riteway operations in south central Wisconsin” and that the company plans to retain all Lazers employees.

GO Riteway, headquartered in Oak Creek, Wis., has over 1,600 employees in 25 locations with a fleet of over 1,300 vehicles that includes school buses, motorcoaches, shuttles, limo coaches, executive sedans and vans. The school bus operator took the 19th spot on School Bus Fleet's Top 40 Contractor Fleets of 2019.

As previously reported, in February, the school bus operator acquired Indiana motorcoach company Cardinal Buses Inc. The acquisition included the company’s 120 employees and 50 vehicles — making the GO Riteway/Cardinal Buses operation one of the largest, most diverse fleets in the Midwest, according to GO Riteway.
