Forsythe adds contracts in California, wins recognition in Alaska
Two California school districts have selected Forsythe Transportation to operate their school bus service.
GAINESVILLE, Texas — Two California school districts — William S. Hart Union and Newhall School Districts in Santa Clarita, Calif. — have selected Forsythe Transportation to operate their school bus service.
According to Richard Varner, director of transportation for both districts, the bus contracts were awarded to Forsythe because “we were impressed with the enviable workplace Forsythe provides its employees and their superior maintenance and safety programs.”
Both school districts operate approximately 70 school buses.
Forsythe’s owners, Bill Forsythe of Gainesville, Texas, and Mark Foster of Phoenix, have long-range plans for expanding their operations in California and selected regions throughout the U.S.
In other news, the State of Alaska’s School Bus Inspection Team has selected Forsythe Transportation for its Best Maintained School Bus Operations Award for the second consecutive period.
Forsythe Transportation’s Anchorage bus facility won the top award for the best large bus fleet and added its Eagle River location to the list of winners for the midsize bus fleet award. By state law, all school bus operations in the state must go through a rigid maintenance inspection twice a year.
“We have a preventive maintenance program that is safety-driven and our employees know that the standard is to have a 'no defects' goal in our state inspection review,” Forsythe said. “We also have a 'zero accidents' goal for our drivers and pride ourselves on our safety record.”
