YONKERS, N.Y. — A former school transportation supervisor here has pleaded guilty for her role in a school bus route scam in which she is accused of stealing more than $100,000 from the city school district, The Journal News reports.

On Dec. 21, Anna Sollozzo, the Yonkers Board of Education’s former transportation supervisor, pleaded guilty to second degree grand larceny and third degree criminal tax fraud charges, according to the newspaper. She is scheduled to be sentenced on April 25, 2016.

Prosecutors said that over the course of two years, Sollozzo, along with William Ahern, the owner of A Plus Transportation, created a fake bus route to the Nepperhan Community Center, for which Ahern would invoice the board and Sollozzo would sign off, according to the newspaper. A Plus Transportation had a contract with the city of Yonkers totaling $2,805,612 for the period from Sept. 24, 2012, through Feb. 7, 2014. Prosecutors also said that Ahern had deposited $107,250 into Sollozzo’s bank account, The Journal News reports.

Sollozzo had also allegedly neglected to remit $282,398 to New York state in income taxes, according to the newspaper. Charges remain pending against Ahern, who is due in court on Jan. 7. The two were arrested in April.
