First Student Utah Location Earns Perfect Score on Fleet Inspections
The school bus contractor’s Ogden operation achieves 100% on its two Utah Highway Patrol inspections for 2016.
OGDEN, Utah — First Student’s Ogden operation achieved a perfect score of 100% on its two Utah Highway Patrol (UHP) fleet inspections for 2016.
UHP conducts inspections on school buses in the state each spring and fall. Troopers check all mechanical aspects and safety features to ensure that school buses are operating in top condition.
First Student’s Ogden location uses a fleet of more than 40 buses to transport about 2,000 Ogden School District students each school day.
“Our team works diligently to provide children and families in our community with safe, reliable transportation,” said Jared Bond, First Student’s Ogden location manager. “Receiving a perfect score on our fleet inspection shows our dedication to ensuring school buses remain the safest way for students to get to and from school.”
Each of First Student’s 47,000 buses follows a daily, monthly, and annual vehicle maintenance program, according to the company. Also, First Student's drivers use fleet inspection technology to conduct a multi-point inspection at the beginning and end of each route.
