First Student will provide transportation to students attending Lorain High School in Ohio throughout the 2012-13 school year by offering shuttle service to and from designated bus stops.

The plan follows the district’s decision to eliminate high school busing due to budget cuts.

“Having access to school transportation is crucial for many families,” said Scott Turney, area general manager, First Student. “We are pleased to provide this service to ensure students get to school safely and on time.”

The cost for the service is $20 per student for the entire school year. The service is being provided free of charge to Lorain City School District and is available on a first come, first served basis.
