CINCINNATI — First Student has shared its own version of the famous poem “A Visit From St. Nicholas,” more commonly known as “’Twas the Night Before Christmas": “’Twas the Night Before Break.”
In the school transportation-based take on the poem, which is told from the perspective of a school bus driver, students “would soon settle in for the bus ride home,” “now faced no homework for days; it made their eyes glisten like diamonds and mouths sing praise,” and, just as in the original, get to meet St. Nicholas, who wishes, “Happy holidays to all, and to all a good break!” at the end of the poem.
The poem was written by a member of the school bus company’s marketing and communications team, who prefers to remain anonymous, according to First Student.
First Student shared the poem with all of its school district partners, which totals around 1,200 contracts.
“Before districts headed into the holiday break, we thought our twist on this classic poem was a good way to have some lighthearted holiday fun,” said Jen Biddinger, corporate communications manager at First Student.
