NORTH CHICAGO, Ill. — Federal prosecutors said Thursday that a former board member and transportation director for a local school district took in at least $800,000 in kickbacks over 10 years from school bus contractors.
As reported by the Chicago Sun-Times, prosecutors unveiled a 26-count indictment against the two ex-school officials from North Chicago Community Unit School District 187 and against three officials from bus companies that were awarded contracts with the districts.
