WARRENVILLE, Ill. — Durham School Services was recognized as the top corporate sales team for the Special Olympics Windy City Rubber Ducky Derby for the seventh year, having sold 3,312 ducks and raised $14,094 to benefit the athletes of Special Olympics Illinois.

“Special Olympics provides the opportunity for people to showcase their dedication and talent for a magnitude of events. In doing so, they engage local communities in a fantastic way,” said David A. Duke, CEO of National Express LLC, Durham’s parent company. “We truly believe in the values of Special Olympics and we are honored to be recognized for our efforts to contribute to their mission.”

To further encourage duck adoptions for the Windy City Rubber Ducky Derby, Durham held an employee fundraising event in July as part of its annual drive to support Special Olympics. The event had guest speaker Nick Lorenz, the 2015 Duck Derby Ambassador, a Baggo tournament and the chance for employees to send senior executives into a dunk tank with the adoption of a duck.

“Special Olympics Illinois and the 22,000 athletes we serve are grateful to Durham School Services,” said Dave Breen, president and CEO of Special Olympics Illinois. “The culture and camaraderie that has developed from their involvement is truly incredible. We are proud to partner with such a great company whose leadership empowers and champions community-minded employees.”
