Durham Receives Perfect School Bus Fleet Inspection, Safety Scores
The school bus company earns 100% scores on a fleet inspection by the Kansas Highway Patrol and on the Kansas State Department of Education’s auditor safety review.
INDEPENDENCE, Kan. — Durham School Services' location here recently received perfect scores on a fleet inspection and on an auditor safety review from the state.
The Kansas Highway Patrol inspected the interior and exterior of vehicles in the fleet that serves the students of Independence Unified School District 446, Cherryvale Unified School District 447, and Parsons Unified School District 503, and gave the fleet a score of 100%.
“We’re proud to receive this recognition from the Kansas State Patrol — it is a great confirmation of the outstanding work that our team is doing,” said Mary Leonard, senior vice president and chief operations officer for Durham. “As a core value, safety is always our top priority, and safe service starts with safe, well-maintained buses.”
In addition, Durham received a perfect score from the Kansas State Department of Education’s auditor safety review.
Keith Dreiling, the state director of pupil transportation, commended Durham for earning the recognition.
“School buses transport our most precious gift, our children, and your achievement of a perfect score reflects highly upon the whole team,” Dreiling said.
