DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. — In anticipation of School Bus Safety Week, Durham School Services is assisting its many terminals in promoting the event.

Durham locations across the U.S. — and sister company Stock Transportation’s locations in Canada — received kits full of materials for getting the word out. The kits include:

• Posters announcing School Bus Safety Week and other bulletin board decorations.
  

• Radio dispatch safety messages for each day of the week.
  

• A sample letter to parents about school bus safety practices.
  

• A press release to be posted on employee bulletin boards.
  

• A mini-marker for each employee, imprinted with a logo and the words “Safety First.”

  In the letter to parents, Durham provides a list of bus rules and asks parents to review them with their children. The company also reminds motorists to use extra caution when driving near school buses and to stop when they see red lights flashing and stop arms extended.

  School Bus Safety Week runs Oct. 22 to 26 in the U.S. and Oct. 15 to 19 in Canada.
