PALMETTO, Fla. — Manatee County School District used one of its school buses to make sure hungry students still got lunch over spring break this week, Bradenton Herald reports.

The district brought back a program from last summer to feed kids for free using a retrofitted school bus, according to the newspaper.

The program served 120 students in three locations Monday and about 150 students Tuesday, and is able to provide lunches for up to 300 students each day during the break, with more being accommodated if necessary, Bradenton Herald reports.

Rick Mills, the district’s superintendent, stopped by the bus Tuesday to talk with children and discuss ways to change up the program this summer, such as with an educational component added to the summer food bus, according to the newspaper.
